SENSEI GLENN RILEY 6th DAN 

CHIEF  INSTRUCTOR

Sensei Riley is a full time Instructor/ Chief Instructor to Akashi Shotokan Karate Association. He leads all the Senior classes at the Dojo, and is head coach for the A.S.K.A Squad. Sensei Riley has been numerous times British Kata Champion, and is a graduate of the gruelling WTKO Kenshusei course. He lived and trained in New York at the WTKO Honbu Dojo under Richard Amos Sensei. Sensei Riley is also a Coach for the KKO GB Team. His passion for Karate has seen him train and grade under the very best Japanese Instructors including Enoeda, Kato, Kagawa, Yamaguchi, Kitagawa, Kanayama, Nagaki. Sensei Riley is also a former student of Sensei’s Bob Rhodes, and the late Randy Williams. A very innovative Instructor.

SENSEI IAN GALLAGHER 4th DAN 

CHIEF REFEREE TO A.S.K.A.

Sensei Gallagher has been training for over 40 years to date. A former England International, and former assistant England Coach, he has certainly a wealth of knowledge to share. A staunch member of A.S.K.A, Sensei Gallagher is also a WUKF Qualified Referee. He has trained with many reputable instructors including the late Steve Cattle and the talented Dave Hazard Sensei. Ian Sensei’s Son is also a member of the Akashi Dojo and a member of the KKO GB Team.

SENSEI KAT FEWSTER 3rd DAN 

JUNIOR KUMITE COACH – ASSISTANT SENIOR COACH

Kat Fewster Sensei is the Junior head Kumite Coach for A.S.K.A, and assistant Senior Kumite coach. Kat has won many British, European and World titles including: Individual WUKF World Kumite Champion, and many times World team Kumite Champion. An outstanding athlete who is at home using either hands or legs to score, she is also a member of the KKO GB Team. Kat Sensei has trained with many greats such as Seiji Nishimura and Rafael Aghayev. A very inspiring instructor to all our members.

SENSEI JIANNIS PACHOS 3rd DAN 

ASSISTAT INSTRUCTOR 

Jiannis Sensei is an extremely popular member of A.S.K.A, and very active as a competitor. Jiannis Sensei has trained with many Japanese Instructors who have greatly influenced his Karate. A very strong, enthusiastic, hard working member of A.S.K.A.

SENSEI RICHARD CROSSLAND 2nd DAN 

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Richard Sensei is constantly in the Dojo! An extremely hard working, enthusiastic member of A.S.K.A. Always eager to to train, and teach, Richard Sensei has been a member of the A.S.K.A Dojo since it was established in August 2011.

SENSEI KIERON Mc INTIRE 1st DAN 

JUNIOR INSTRUCTOR – TIGERS

Kieron Sensei leads all the Children’s (Tigers classes) at the Akashi Dojo. An extremely popular and loved Instructor by our junior members. A very hard working student, who is always eager to pass on his knowledge to our younger members. His kind yet strict approach to teaching is always appreciated by Parents! Kieron Sensei certainly is a great instructor who brings out the best in all who attend his classes.

SENSEI PETER SIMON 1st DAN 

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR – COACH

A former member of the WKF Slovakian National Team, Peter Sensei is without doubt a very talented Karate-Ka, and very popular member in our Kumite classes. Peter Sensei is also a coach for the Akashi Dojo, and is always present at all open Karate Competitions. Peter Sensei has coached many of our members to victory! Peter Sensei’s Son is also a member of the Akashi Dojo / the KKO GB Team.

SENSEI NAOTA YUASA 1st DAN 

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR COACH

Naota Sensei’s “Samurai Spirit” always has a great presence in the Dojo. A keen student who trains hard and always gives 100%. Another great asset to the Akashi Dojo, and an excellent Japanese Instructor! Naota Sensei’s two children are also black belts and members of the KKO GB Team.

SENSEI NADEEM OPPAL 1st DAN 

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR – TIGERS

Nadeem Sensei has been a member of the Akashi Dojo since 2011. He joined with his three Sons, two of whom who are also A.S.K.A Dan grades. Nadeem Sensei is a very popular instructor in our Tigers class, and always gets maximum effort from all our juniors.

BECKY GALLAGHER

ADMINISTRATOR

Becky is a great asset to the Akashi Dojo. From fundraising to organising entries for Competitions, booking flights and accommodation for those competing abroad, taking registrations at Gradings to being the KKO GB Licensing officer, she is alway’s willing to help out with basically anything at the Dojo. Becky is also in charge of ordering A.S.K.A Squad Tracksuits. We are indeed very lucky to have her.
