On Sunday 6th May 2012 Leon Riley and Alex Dyson-Solowka represented Akashi Shotokan Karate Club at the SSKC Novice Competition (Selby)
Both Students have never competed before, but enjoyed the whole experience. Leon was drawn against a purple/white belt (4th Kyu) in his opening round of Kata and performed extremely well, losing to his opponent leon loved the whole experience! Alex managed to win his first round in the Kata event, and win his first round of the Kumite event before losing. Both did very well and the Club is very proud of them both, well done!
The Selby Competition is a yearly event and I would encourage all Students to take part!
