9th European Championships Romania

On the 4th April 2017, myself, Ian, Shelly Sensei travelled to Romania to attend the 9th European Championships held in the city of Cluj. The European Championships were held over 4 days, and I can honestly say, it was an experience i will never forget. The standard of Karate was simply incredible, and the attendance... breathtaking. I wish to congratulate our very own Shelly Collinson who came away with a bronze medal in the Individual Kumite event. Any member who may think I am a little strict with them on occasions...take the time and have a chat with Shelly!!

Only through hard work, commitment, dedication, and self-belief, can this be achieved. We arrived home yesterday, extremely tired, however, back to work, and of course Shelly was in the line up training. Hanya Kowalczuk who came to our Dojo just over a year ago to further her Kumite training was crowned Ind European Kumite Champion, a truly fantastic achievement. Please congratulate both in class tomorrow evening. Just to give everyone an idea of how big the attendance was: The Romanian Team had 500 Competitors! Many Congratulations to Ian Sensei who has been promoted to “Kansa” by the WUKF (Referee qualification).

Enjoy the photos!
